About Me
Summer Hough, LPC (she/her/hers)
Hello and welcome! I know finding a therapist is a long and daunting process, so congratulations for making it this far.
I earned my bachelors degree in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and then completed my post-graduate work at Texas State University earning a Masters in Professional counseling in 2017.
For 5 years after becoming licensed as a professional counselor, I worked at a non-profit for LGBTQIA+ folks called Out Youth, where I specialized in working with children, teens and adults who identify under the transgender umbrella, and their families. During this time I also volunteered with Austin/Travis County SARRT (Sexual Assault Response and Resource Team) and was chosen to be trained in EMDR in order to better help my clients heal from the wounds of trauma.
I am excited to branch out on my own and look forward to continuing to do what I love -- helping people feel better.
I live with huey, my very shy but very handsome dog, and possibly too many plants. On the weekends, Huey and I enjoy hiking, swimming in rivers, listening to live music, and roller skating, although I haven't been able to find any roller skates in Huey's size.
